But no, this post shall not be as enthusiastic as usual when dealing with Eastern riff makers, for this stuff is almost bad. There are good songs, i.e. songs with a great rocking heavy metal background. But there are too many awful pieces of shit radio ballads or simply mediocre attempts at a hit. Plus the good songs are invariably poisoned by keyboards and the vocals are waaaaayyyyyyy too pop, at least they have the typical Japanese vibe. I had bought the first LP because of the flying V on the cover and was disappointed it sounded weaker than Scorpions' Tokyo Tapes. I recently found a short stash of cheap CDs so gave Earthshaker another chances 20 years later, but it still does not work for me. They released twelve billion albums, I have only heard these five, maybe an exceptional release exists that I should listen to? Now back to the real heavyweights Anthem and Loudness.
